"Grimworld: Battle for Underholme": Overview

Welcome to "Grimworld: Battle for Underholme," a new fantasy project from Dakka.Fantasy. Dive into intense battles of the ancient village of Underholme, where two powerful factions of dwarfs clash for supremacy.

In addition to OnePageRules (Steelhill Dwarfs, Voidland Dwarfs), players can also enjoy the game using the provided unique ruleset.

Game Board 

The game board is divided into 7 equal sections, each measuring 7 inches and having its own name and purpose:

  • Advanced Base Line: Your base, where you deploy and start your operations.

  • Rear Line: Always behind your base and can contain reserves or be a fallback point.

  • Battle Front Line: The front line where most of the action and points are scored.

Game Mode and Victory Conditions Victory goes to the player who collects the most victory points by the end of the 8th turn.

Command Points 

Players can use command points to:

  • Reinforce unit numbers or return eliminated units to the game.

  • Build barricades or siege weapons.

  • Activate character orders.


Characteristics of Each Faction

Voidland Dwarfs: Known for their powerful dark magic and high-damage shooting units. They possess monstrous creatures and cheap cannon fodder. However, they have a short range for riflemen and artillery, and their units are costly.

Steelhill Dwarfs: Specialize in flying units and runic spells that weaken enemies. They are strong in both ranged and melee combat, with units designed for tactical flexibility. They lack offensive magic and monstrous creatures.

Gameplay Characteristics 

Warriors possess various abilities. Every model is defined by the following set of characteristics: Movement , Close Combat, Ranged Combat, Wounds, Pressure, Attacks, and Bravery.

Movement (MV): Indicates how far a model can move during its turn. 

Close Combat (CC): Represents a model's ability to fight in close quarters. The higher the CC, the better your warrior will perform in hand-to-hand combat.

Ranged Combat (RC): Shows how proficient your warrior is with ranged weapons. 

Wounds (W): Indicates how many wounds a model can take before dying. Most have 2 wounds, while larger creatures or seasoned veterans might have more.

Pressure (P): Reflects how strong a unit's charge is and the impact it has on the enemy. The larger the difference in Pressure , the more effective the attack.

Attacks (A): Shows how many attacks a model can make in close combat. Most have 1 attack, but stronger fighters might have more.

Bravery (B): Represents a model's courage and self-control. The higher the bravery, the better your model will perform under pressure.
