The Rise of the Blessed Ones

On the distant planet Seraphis, inhabitants devoutly worshipped the Church of Eternal Peace, praying for an end to galactic wars. Daily, they gathered in grand cathedrals, their unified hymns echoing across serene landscapes.

But the church leaders lived in opulence, indulging in luxury funded by donations meant for the needy. Their hypocrisy was hidden behind benevolent smiles and hollow sermons.

This deceit attracted the Corruption, an ancient malevolent force from the Dark Cosmos. Drawn to the imbalance between genuine faith and leadership's deceit, the Corruption descended upon Seraphis like an all-consuming shadow.

As the Corruption enveloped the planet, skies darkened, and the good people began to transform into grotesque forms. Consumed by a radical ideology, they believed true peace would come only when all life embraced the Corruption or was annihilated. Feeling enlightened, they saw themselves as chosen harbingers of a new order.

Embracing this grim purpose, they renamed themselves the Blessed Ones. United under this dark revelation, they sought to spread the Corruption beyond their world. Their harmonious prayers turned into haunting chants, and cathedrals became foreboding bastions of otherworldly energies.

The Forge of Souls

The Forgeborn guarded the legendary Forge of Souls, a place where the most sacred and powerful weapons were forged. The Forgeborn, led by Gefest "Forge Father", were not only master blacksmiths but warriors, bound by honor to protect the forge from corruption. Their strength came from the forge itself — fire, magma, and the unyielding will to protect their world.

The Blessed Ones, twisted by the Corruption from the Dark Cosmos, sought to claim the forge. They believed that by crafting weapons imbued with the Corruption, they could bring about their twisted vision of peace — peace through destruction. Justiciar Panki'Hoi and his followers, consumed by their hunger for power, assaulted the forge to take control.

The Forgeborn fought back with all their might. Ignis "Firehammer", armed with his hammer, struck with the fury of the forge itself. Lazarus "Ironborn", clad in impenetrable armor, cleaved through the Blessed Ones' ranks with unrelenting precision. They were warriors of flame, sworn to defend the forge at all costs.

As the battle raged, Panki'Hoi and his zealots broke through, reaching the heart of the forge. But when one of the tainted warriors touched its sacred core, something unexpected happened. The forge, alive with the essence of fire and creation, rejected the Corruption. Instead of granting him power, it consumed him. The flames of the forge turned black and cold, and the corrupted was burned away, his body twisted and reduced to ash.

The Forgeborn had won — but at a great cost. The forge remained protected, its fire still pure. Yet they knew the Blessed Ones would never cease their quest for destruction. The Forgeborn would be ready, guarding the flames from any who sought to corrupt them.
