They are a caste of beings with powers of persuasion and telepathy, who use their abilities to maintain the ideology and unity of the Black Sun's philosophy of universal harmony and cooperation. Their physical appearance is similar to that of other members of the Covenant, but they wear distinctive robes and have ornate headpieces that mark them as leaders.



Spectrals are viewed as almost mythical figures by the other castes, and their presence is seen as a source of inspiration and direction. They are responsible for interpreting the will of the council, the highest governing body of the Black Sun Covenant. They are also responsible for maintaining discipline among the warrior caste and for spreading the teachings throughout the empire.
